The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty is designed for certified divers who want to improve their underwater photos without sacrificing dive skills or situational awareness. Underwater photography adds task loading, so this course focuses on technique, preparation, and control rather than just camera settings.
You’ll learn how light behaves underwater, how to frame better shots, and how to work with subjects respectfully. Equal emphasis is placed on buoyancy, trim, and environmental awareness so your photography enhances the dive experience rather than distracting from it.

Equipment Requirements
- Space City Dive Center provides all major scuba equipment, including BCD, regulator, dive computer, exposure protection, tanks, and weights.
- Students are encouraged to use their own digital underwater camera if they have one. Demo options may be available depending on availability.
- Students are required to provide their own personal gear, including mask, snorkel, fins, and boots. Rental packages are available if needed.
