The Divers Alert Network Emergency Oxygen Provider course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond effectively to dive-related emergencies. This hybrid course blends self-paced eLearning with instructor-led, hands-on practice to ensure both understanding and real-world skill proficiency.
Participants complete the online portion first, covering essential concepts such as recognizing signs and symptoms of decompression illness, lung overexpansion injuries, and other dive-related medical emergencies. The in-person session then focuses on practical application, including proper setup, use, and management of emergency oxygen delivery systems.
At Space City Dive Center, DAN Emergency Oxygen Provider training is practical, scenario-based, and instructor-led. The focus is on calm decision-making, correct equipment use, and readiness to act quickly when oxygen can make a critical difference.
